Meet Bec

Hi, I'm Bec.

I'm so excited you're here and checking me and my cool hypermobility info out!

I'm an osteopath with a special interest in symptomatic hypermobility, hEDS, HSD, POTS and chronic pain.

I also happen to live with hEDS myself, along with all the quirks that come with it.

For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by understanding how bodies work. That curiosity eventually became a profession, and these days I spend a lot of my time helping people make sense of symptoms that don't quite seem to fit together.

Many of the people I work with have spent years feeling confused, dismissed, or like they're collecting diagnoses without ever getting a clear picture of what's actually going on. That was my experience too, until I finally met someone who recognised hEDS and helped me understand what was happening in my own body.

Now I love helping people connect those dots, better understand their experiences, and feel more confident navigating their healthcare journey.

Outside the clinic, you'll usually find me teaching or training pole dancing, obsessing over hypermobility research, or being thoroughly judged by my cat, ChaCha.

My Approach

One thing I've learned from both my clinical work and my own experience living with hEDS is that hypermobile bodies can be wonderfully weird.

A lot of us spend years chasing firmer, stronger, or more intensive treatment because it feels like that's what we should need. Sometimes that's exactly what helps. Other times, it can leave us feeling more irritated, sore, unstable, or completely wiped out.

We don't always need more force, more stretching, or to be absolutely pulverised on the treatment table.

Sometimes the most effective approach is actually much gentler than people expect.

I've learned that listening to the body's response is often far more useful than following a formula. Sometimes a gentler approach is exactly what's needed. Other times, we can be much more direct. The trick is figuring out what works for your body.

I want people to leave appointments feeling heard, understood, and more confident in their bodies. Sometimes the biggest shift isn't what happens during treatment, it's finally understanding why your experiences make sense.
